About Emiko

I currently provide creative cooking classes and private catering and consulting services.

My themes are diverse and creative ranging from Japanese 'Kyoto style' home cooking to modern Italian and Australian influences which can be shared with friends and family for daily home and house party occasions.

Among topics covered: 
  • Selecting & Matching Creative seasonal ingredients
  • Develop a balanced menu
  • How to coordinate tableware with selected menu items
  • The fundamentals of a table setting: concept and manner
  • Matching wine with food


My professional background as a Fashion Director for 17 years & more than 10 years working as a creative culinary chef has afforded my with a rich and exciting level of experience that I simply enjoy sharing.

Also chefed at renown Kazari Cafe (Awarded 3 times: Three Hats on The Age Good Food Guide)

“Emi’s Cuisine” Cooking Class: Spring 2014

いつまでもグレーな寒空が続くと思ったら,突然初夏の様な日があったりで,メルボルンの気まぐれな天気の変化にはどうしても馴染めないでいる今日この頃です。

さて待ちに待った春の訪れと共に,庭や公園のぼけの花や桃,梅,水仙,フリージアやカラリリー等の花々が咲き乱れ,新鮮な春の食材も店頭に目白押しです。

ここメルボルンは,オールシーズン各種の食材はもちろんの事,四季折々の新鮮な食材に加え,年々増える国際色豊かな食材が殆ど国内のファームや近海から届き,私達の食卓を賑わせてくれます。
それにグレードの高いワイン!


店頭では見た事はあるけれど,どう使うのか,どう調理するのかといった疑問もお持ちではないでしょうか?

身体に優しい食生活を考慮しつつ,食に関する探究心と情熱は増々高まるばかりです。。。。。

ラッキーカントリー オーストラリアの豊富で国際色豊かな食材を生かし,毎日のお惣菜はもちろんの事,ジャンルにこだわらず手軽に作れるヘルシーで美味しい家庭料理から,友人を招いてのカジュアルなホームパーティーやお客様へのおもてなし料理迄,盛り沢山なクッキングクラスです。
他,テーブルマナー,チーズ,食事に合ったワイン等々。。。

“ Emi”s Cuisine” Cooking Class in Spring


Feeling gloomy about the cold and gray Melbourne winter sky. And then suddenly the weather changes as if it’s the beginning of summer. Such changeable weather in Melbourne still doesn’t agree with me.

Even so, many flowers are beginning to bloom all over the garden. The markets are abundant with many fresh spring veggies, fruit, fish and young lamb etc.


Finally, it’s spring!!


These days, I’m so impressed with the full range of fresh domestic ingredients that are available from local farms and the surrounding sea - and it’s all here in Melbourne. Then there is wine!

So, I wonder if you ever considered how to make the best of these fantastic array of nature’s gifts in your daily life?

In consideration of ‘food as medicine’ that nurtures our health I am passionate about exploring the infinite possibilities for our daily table and flavours that awaken and delight our senses.
